President Donald Trump on Tuesday accused Russia’s President Vladimir Putin of having “a lot” of good ideas for America, as he discussed his administration’s relationship with Moscow.
Speaking in front of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), Trump said he wants to be able to meet with Putin at least once a year, and the two leaders have “a good relationship” and have “two things in common: They’re both very tough, and they’re both leaders.”
Trump also praised Putin for the “great things” he’s done for his country, saying that he has “done things that were absolutely right.”
Trump has spoken with Putin on several occasions over the past few months.
Trump and Putin met in the Oval Office in April, after the two presidents spoke for nearly an hour.
They also discussed the Ukraine crisis, as well as the upcoming US election.
