Deltas whistle blows whistles on Delta electronics repair shop.
Delta Electronics says it will shut down its electronic repair business by the end of this month.
The company announced Thursday it will cease selling electronic repair parts and accessories.
The news comes as more than 100 Delta employees have filed a class action lawsuit against the company alleging a variety of claims including unfair labor practices, excessive overtime and racial discrimination.
Delta CEO Jim McNerney announced the closure in a statement on Thursday.
“This is the last phase of our transition,” McNerneys statement said.
“We will be in a transition period.
We have been working with our contractors, customers and our stakeholders to implement a long-term plan that will enable us to achieve the long-awaited outcome of this process.
We are committed to delivering on our commitment to all of our customers and partners, and we look forward to a seamless and productive end to our transformation.”
McNerneys company, Delta’s largest and most profitable division, employs about 4,000 people in Georgia and Louisiana.
